Overdenture Restorations: Replacement of an Existing Mandibular O-ring Abutment with a Brevis™ Abutment

This case demonstrates the chairside overdenture technique for the replacement of a too tall o-ring abutment with a 4.0mm 0° Brevis™ abutment.

     


1. Patient’s existing denture revealing the need for a shorter o-ring abutment.


2. View of two mandibular o-ring abutments after the removal of denture.


3. Abutment being grasped with an ash forceps.


4. Ash forceps being gently tapped for the removal of the o-ring abutment.


5. A 4.0mm 0° Brevis™ abutment with 3.0mm post being inserted.
