Bicon Integrated Abutment Crowns™: Extraction, Immediate Placement, and Restoration of a Maxillary Central Incisor Implant with an Integrated Abutment Crown™
This case demonstrates the extraction, immediate placement, implant-level transfer impression, temporization, and restoration of maxillary central incisor implant with an Integrated Abutment Crown™.

     

First Visit



1. Pre-operative radiograph.


2. Pre-operative site.


3. Pre-operative smile.


4. Periotome being used to initiate the extraction.


5. Periotome being used to initiate the extraction.


6. Root being elevated from the socket.

9. Curette being used to remove soft tissue remnants.


10. Irrigation of the socket.


11. Osteotomy being prepared with a 2.0mm pilot bur rotating at 1100RPM with external irrigation.


12. Paralleling pin being used to confirm appropriate trajectory of the osteotomy.


13. Osteotomy being enlarged with an olive green 2.5mm latch reamer rotating at 50RPM without water irrigation.


14. Osteotomy being enlarged with a teal 3.0mm latch reamer rotating at 50RPM without water irrigation.


15. Osteotomy being enlarged with a blue 3.5mm latch reamer rotating at 50RPM without water irrigation.


16. Osteotomy being enlarged with a red 4.0mm latch reamer rotating at 50RPM without water irrigation.


17. Osteotomy being enlarged with a silver 4.5mm latch reamer rotating at 50RPM without water irrigation.


18. Harvested bone within the flute of a silver 4.5mm latch reamer.


19. Osteotomy being enlarged with a gold 5.0mm latch reamer rotating at 50RPM without water irrigation.


20. Harvested bone within the flute of a gold 5.0mm latch reamer.


21. Curette being used to remove residual bone while confirming the integrity of the five bony walls of the osteotomy.


22. A 5.0mm x 8.0mm HA coated implant being inserted with an implant seating tip threaded on a straight driver.


23. Implant seating tip attached to a straight handle being tapped to seat the implant fully into the osteotomy.


24. Cut polyethylene healing plug being inserted into the well of the implant.


25. Autogenous bone graft previously harvested during osteotomy preparation being placed over the seated implant.


26. Bicon Resorbable Collagen Plug being inserted.


27. Sutured site.


28. Post-operative radiograph.

Second Visit: Three months after previous visit



29. Bonded prosthesis prior to its removal.


30. Site after removal of transitional prosthesis.


31. Healing plug being removed with healing plug removal instrument.


32. Green 3.0mm plastic impression post being inserted into the 3.0mm well of an integrated implant for the making of an implant-level transfer impression.


33. Green 3.0mm plastic impression post receiving its mandatory seating tap.


34. Impression material being injected around impression post for the making of a full arch implant-level transfer impression.

Third visit: Two weeks after previous visit



35. Bonded transitional prosthesis prior to its removal for the insertion of the Integrated Abutment Crown™.


36. Well of implant being cleaned with alcohol on a cotton-tipped applicator.
