NEW! Implant Placement and Restoration of a Six-Unit Cemented TRINIA® Prosthesis in Only Two Clinical Visits

Posted on in Extraction, Immediate Placement, SHORT® Implants

This treatment demonstrates the extraction of a maxillary lateral incisor and the immediate placement of a 4.0 x 6.0-mm implant with a 2.5-mm well for a 91-year-old man. An implant-level transfer impression was made for an existing integrated molar implant and the immediately placed incisor implant. The existing molar implant, with a 3.0-mm well, was used to provide support for a temporary prosthesis during the four months of healing. The permanent TRINIA® prosthesis with six units of handcrafted polyceramic teeth was cemented at the time of the implant’s uncovering during the patient’s second clinical visit.

NEW! Replacement of a Failed Screw-Retained Prosthesis with a Telescopic TRIO-TRINIA® Prosthesis with Milled Hybrid Polyceramic Teeth

Posted on in Restorative, SHORT® Implants, Surgical, Telescopic Restorations, Uncovering

This treatment for an 83-year-old woman, who presented with a failed maxillary prosthesis supported by five screw-retained IMZ implants, demonstrates the clinical capabilities of a telescopic TRINIA® prosthesis supported by only three Bicon SHORT® Implants: two 4.5 x 6.0-mm implants with a 3.0-mm well, and one 4.0 x 6.0-mm implant with a 2.5-mm well. The laboratory techniques and procedures of this treatment are also presented. After five months of healing, the implants were uncovered and a telescopic TRIO-TRINIA® prosthesis was fabricated with milled hybrid polyceramic teeth.

Anterior Placement of Two 3.0 x 6.0mm SHORT® Implants with Mandibular Central Incisor Integrated Abutment Crowns™

Posted on in Integrated Abutment Crowns™, Restorative, SHORT® Implants, Uncovering

This treatment demonstrates the placement of two 3.0 x 6.0mm SHORT® Implants with 2.0mm wells and the insertion of two mandibular central incisor Integrated Abutment Crowns™ (IACs).

Placement of Two 4.0 x 6.0mm SHORT® Implants in the areas of Congenitally Missing Maxillary Lateral Incisors with Grafting Procedures

Posted on in Integrated Abutment Crowns™, Restorative, SHORT® Implants

This treatment demonstrates the placement of two 4.0 x 6.0mm SHORT® Implants for the replacement of congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors using harvested autogenous bone, SynthoGraft™ (a pure phase beta-tricalcium phosphate), collagen membranes, and leukocyte platelet-rich fibrin (LPRF) membranes.

The Insertion of Two Contiguous Implants into a Mandibular Bone Void Using Sinus Lift Abutments with SynthoGraft®, and Their Subsequent Restoration with Two Integrated Abutment Crowns™

Posted on in Integrated Abutment Crowns™, SHORT® Implants

This treatment demonstrates the insertion of a 4.0 x 6.0mm implant and a 4.5 x 6.0mm implant into two contiguous mandibular osteotomies, which communicated with each other because of a bone void. After preparation of the implant osteotomies through the crest of cortical bone, the soft tissue content of the bone void was thoroughly removed from the bony walls of the defect with a spoon excavator prior to filling the defect with a putty-like consistency of the patient’s blood and SynthoGraft®, a pure-phase beta-tricalcium phosphate. A sinus lift abutment was used to prevent the implants from being displaced into the defect. Subsequently, the implants were restored with Universal Abutments and Integrated Abutment Crowns (IACs).

Guided Bone Regeneration Technique and Implant Placement in an atrophic mandibular first molar site

Posted on in Integrated Abutment Crowns™, Restorative, SHORT® Implants, Uncovering

This treatment offers an alternative to ridge splitting procedures, demonstrating the molar implant placement and simultaneous guided bone regeneration of a 56-year-old woman’s atrophic left mandible. Because of the very thin and dense crestal bone, a high-speed drill was used to initiate the osteotomy prior to the successive use of latch and hand reamers, and the placement of a 4.5 x 6.0mm implant, which was covered with SynthoGraft™ within a collagen membrane pocket. The 5-year post-insertion clinical and radiographic images reveal a successful treatment with significant bone gain.

Placement and Restoration of a 3.0 x 6.0mm SHORT® Implant in a Seemingly Impossible Clinical Situation

Posted on in Immediate Placement, Integrated Abutment Crowns™, Restorative, SHORT® Implants, Surgical

This case demonstrates three years of remarkable healing and clinical capabilities of a Bicon implant which was restored with an Integrated Abutment Crown™ (IAC) in a seventy-two-year-old male patient. Due to a variety of extenuating circumstances, a 3.0 x 6.0mm SHORT® Implant was immediately placed with a significant amount of SynthoGraft™, a pure phase beta tricalcium phosphate material, and a collagen membrane in a seemingly impossible clinical situation after the removal of a fractured and infected mandibular lateral incisor.

Guided Placement and Restoration of a 5.0 x 6.0mm Bicon SHORT® Implant with a CEREC® e.max® CAD/CAM Crown

Posted on in SHORT® Implants

This case demonstrates the successful guided placement of a 5.0 x 6.0mm Bicon SHORT® Implant on a 67-year-old female and its restoration with a CEREC® chairside-designed e.max® abutment crown. A pre-op CEREC® designed crown integrated into an XG3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was utilized for implant planning down the long axis of the CEREC® designed crown. The final design was emailed to SiCat for construction of a surgical guide with a Bicon Guided Sleeve. The guided surgery used the final desired intraoral position of the CEREC® abutment crown to determine the final position of the Bicon implant.
