Bicon Institute Faculty

Each faculty member has placed or restored significant numbers of Bicon Implants. Each member is also experienced in most of the major implant systems; however, their preference is to use the Bicon System because of its simplicity of design and superior results. You will have the opportunity to discuss with the faculty the growth that has occurred in their practice with the use of the Bicon System. Their combined experiences should give you a greater understanding of how you can offer implant treatments to your patients in a cost effective, predictable and profitable manner.

Primary Faculty

Dr. Vincent J. Morgan Vincent J. Morgan, DMD, a 1970 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, leads the prosthetic team at his private group practice, the Implant Dentistry Center in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Doctor Morgan is responsible for the development of the revolutionary techniques of the Integrated Abutment Crown™ (IAC). After placing his first implants in 1970 and years of implant experience with many different systems, he was part of a group that purchased the Bicon Implant System from Stryker Instruments in 1994. Currently he serves as president of Bicon, LLC. Along with the other clinicians at the Implant Dentistry Centre, Doctor Morgan is responsible for the development of many of the restorative techniques of the Bicon Dental Implant System. The techniques include the immediate stabilization of Bicon implants, the extra-oral cementation of implant crowns and the revolutionary Integrated Abutment Crown™ (IAC). Currently, he is introducing CAD/CAM technologies to the Bicon system.

Dr. Shadi Daher Shadi Daher, DMD, FICD, FAAOMS, FIAOMS, is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Daher completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the American University of Beirut. He received his DMD degree from Boston University and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Boston University and Tufts University. Dr. Daher has been a speaker in many national and international symposia on the topics of dental implant surgery and bone grafting. He currently is the Surgical Director of the Bicon Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Daher is a member of the Alumni Council of Boston University and the President-Elect of the Alumni Board of Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine is a founding Board of Directors member and the treasurer of “Medical Missions for Children, Inc.” and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentist. Dr. Daher maintains a consultancy practice in OMS in Boston Massachusetts and is a leading member in multiple national and international professional and honorary societies.

Dr. Drauseo Speratti is a 1994 graduate of the Universidade Metodista de Sao Paulo and he received his Specialist in Dental Implants and Oral Minor Surgeries from the Universidade Camilo Castelo Branco in 1996. Dr. Speratti was in private practice in Sao Paulo, Brazil prior to coming to the United States in 2001. He has presented many courses about dental implants and is a Clinical Instructor at the Implant Dentistry Centre and Bicon Institute in Boston, MA.

Dr. Joseph Leary is a periodontist based in Norwood, MA. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1972, received his Certificate in Postgraduate Periodontology in 1977 and is a former president of the Massachusetts Periodontal Society. Currently, Dr. Leary is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and a faculty member of the Bicon Institute. He maintains his private practice of 30 years in Norwood, Massachusetts.

Rainier Urdaneta, DMD graduated from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Specializing in prosthodontics, Dr. Urdaneta is part of the restorative team in private group practice at the Implant Dentistry Centre in Boston, MA and Concord Dental Associates in Concord, MA. He is also a Clincal Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Urdaneta has extensive experience with the Bicon system, including the techniques of immediate stabilization and funtion and Integrated Abutment Crowns™. Dr. Urdaneta is also responsible for several ongoing research projects with the Bicon system.
