Hello, my name is Laura Murcko, and I am excited to share with you my experiences with the unmatched clinical capabilities of the narrow 3.0 x 6.0mm Bicon Implant. Since two thousand twelve, I have routinely and successfully been using these tiny implants. Because they are narrow and because they have a two millimeter well, I have restricted their use to only the mandibular incisors. The 3.0 x 6.0mm narrow Bicon implant is 3.0mm at its widest diameter and 2.2mm at the coronal end and 2.0mm at the apical end. Therefore, this implant can be used in very narrow apical spaces, actually in areas that are less than 3.0mm. Although two of these 3.0 x 6.0mm Bicon narrow implants are capable of supporting a four unit mandibular incisor bridge, they are also capable of giving you the opportunity to offer to your patients four individual prosthetic teeth with the inherent benefits of individual interproximal papillae. The following clinical cases should provide you with an understanding of how you too can provide cost effective and practical treatments for your patients without bone grafting procedures and their inherent disadvantages. Our first clinical case for demonstrating the unmatched clinical capabilities and benefits of Bicon’s three millimeter by six millimeter implants will be the extraction of four mandibular incisors and their replacement with four implants for a seventy year old man who had multiple Bicon implants placed nine years previously. Prior to preparing the osteotomies, the two nine year old canine IACs were removed and set aside. Green guide pins were inserted into the well of the canine implants to act as a trajectory guide for the preparation of the incisor osteotomies. The implants were placed with the two stage protocol, and a transitional fixed prosthesis was fabricated utilizing the nine year old canine implants for support. After ten weeks of healing, the four implants were uncovered and an implant level transfer impression was made for the fabrication of four new individual integrated abutment crowns along with the nine year old IACs. A yellow thermoplastic seating jig was used to facilitate directing the abutment seating forces in the long axes of the implant well and abutment shaft. Post insertion radiographic and clinical images reveal a successful treatment with aesthetic and functional papillae and bone levels. Our second case is the immediate placement and restoration of a three millimeter narrow implant to replace a single mandibular incisor for a seventy year old female. Clinical and radiographic images reveal not only the excellent aesthetics of an integrated abutment crown, but more importantly, they show how the interdental papillae around Bicon implants can improve significantly over time. The maturation of the interdental papillae over a two year period speaks legions about the clinical capabilities of Bicon’s unique and time proven design. Clinical and radiographic images from the treatment of three additional male patients give further credence to the functional and aesthetic reliability and predictability of Bicon’s three millimeter by six millimeter implants. Hopefully, this video has increased your appreciation of the clinical capabilities of the Bicon narrow 3.0 x 6.0mm implant, both for you and your patient’s benefit. Thank you.
